Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography is a summary of each of the sources you are using for writing a paper.  It is a brief summary.  It is one way of organizing your thoughts before you begin to write a paper.

The format should be as follows:

State your thesis in one or two sentences.

Cite the source using APA style. Help! I don't know APA style

In paragraph form summarize the source.  What are its main points, is it a book, article...?  Does it report on the authors empirical findings or describe the empirical findings of others?  How will you use this information in your paper?  This should be one or two paragraphs long.

Repeat.  You need about 5 good sources for your paper.  We will discuss the definition of "good sources" in class.

Grading:

Your critical analysis will NOT be accepted if you have not turned in and received back from me an annotated bibliography.  It is worth 20% of your critical analysis/ research paper.

You will receive up to 20 points for each source you cite.  I will evaluate the quality of each source and it relevance to your paper.
