Wiki Project

We will be creating our own (limited) Psychology "Wikipedia".  Each class member will be a part of a group assigned to create one page.  Each page will explain an issue in psychology from a biological perspective, a learning perspective, a cognitive perspective and a social perspective, so that the reader will have a thorough knowledge of that topic in psychology after consulting our pages.  Like any good internet source, each of our pages will site sources for the information presented, be well-written and attractive.

Our wiki is located at: :  http://psyclass.pbwiki.com/  I will give out the password in class.  If you have lost it, please e-mail me from an e-mail account that you know works (make sure your name is in the message) and I will send it to you.

The topics your group may choose from are:

  • Happiness
  • Drug addiction
  • Weight control
  • How to be a good student
  • Depression
  • Anger/aggression

Each group's page will contain:

  • an introduction to the topic (happiness, drug addiction, depression, etc.)
  • a section on the Biological Psychology Perspective Perspective on the topic
  • a section on the Learning Perspective on the topic
  • a section on the Cognitive Perspective on the topic
  • a section on the Social Psychology Perspective Perspective on the topic
  • a conclusion
  • a bibliography of sources used

Groups will each have 4-5 members.  Each member will have a defined role and will be graded on that role (60%)  as well as on the quality of the project as a whole (40%).
