CSC 220 Home

General Course Information:

During this class we will cover the basics of computer operating systems. First, we will start off with a little history and learn the differences between open-source and proprietary operating systems. Then we'll move into interfaces - both graphical and command line. After that, we'll learn how to use at least one distribution of Linux - probably Red Hat Fedora. And finally the course covers two of  Microsoft's products - Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional.

General course info:

There will be one day section during the Spring 2008 semester. The class and all labs are held in room 127T.

I will be teaching the 01C section, we will meet on Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:45 PM.
