General Course Information:

We will cover many introductory concepts of computer networks. I start off with standards where topics like the OSI model are studied and then we move into tools, topologies, media , protocols and end up at network operating systems.

We set up a complete client-server network during the semester so there is a lot of time for hands-on activities. The activities include running media, punching down wires, using test equipment, building patch cords, installing NICs, configuring protocols and the server administration.
